2011: NEW HOLLAND SUMMER opening

English: Masterplan NEW HOLLAND SUMMER was developed by BERNASKONI architectural bureau in collaboration with Iris Foundation. The founder and the leader of the bureau Boris Bernaskoni claims that we are witnessing the end of the 300 years of obscurity. This is proven by the fact that during the first three days after the official opening New Holland attracted 15 thousand visitors. Boris says:“As architects we approached the architectural heritage of the New Holland island by embedding the smaller contemporary objects.” The architect is certain that the character of existing buildings of the New Holland island should be retained. The Dutch atmosphere is created by a group of the sea containers and the number of unique events taking place in the next few months. According to Bernaskoni during the winter season the visitors will be able to enjoy the traditional Dutch ice skating. “VEDOMOSTI”

Russian: Генеральный план проекта «Лето в новой Голландии» был разработан архитектурным бюро BERNASKONI совместно с фондом «Айрис». Главный архитектор, руководитель бюро Борис Бернаскони подчеркивает, что 300-летней безвестности пришел конец: за первые три дня открытия в Новой Голландии побывало 15 тысяч человек. «Мы смотрим на памятник архитектуры со стороны современных небольших объектов», — сказал он. Архитектор уверен в том, что облик старой архитектуры Новой Голландии должен сохранится. Сейчас голландская атмосфера поддержана морскими контейнерами и программой, которая будет проходить в ближайшие несколько месяцев. English: Following the results of “KAK” online Magizine annual rating, VOLGADACHA project was selected as the best Russian design of 2010. The most significant projects of the year are taking part in this rating and appraised by the international commission of experts.

English: This book is about architecture. MUSEЙ : from exhibit to national gallery. The book includes exhibits, exhibition spaces and museums designed by Bernaskoni office and a-0 [a-null]. The projects are arranged in the following succession: from exhibition pieces to a building as an interactive city landmark. The succession demonstrates an idea of gradual transformation of museum space from an introverted object/sculpture into a spatial environment and no-object. Attached to the book is the original soundtrack by Guns Holman created specially for MUSEЙ, which turns the synchronous reading of a book into a spatial adventure.

Russian: Эта книга об архитектуре. MUSEЙ : от экспоната до национальной галереи. Книга включает экспонаты, выставочные пространства и музеи, спроектированные бюро Бернаскони и а-0 [a-ноль]. Проекты представлены в последовательности от выставочного экспоната до здания как интерактивного градообразующего элемента. Такая последовательность демонстрирует, как идея музейного пространства постепенно трансформируется из интравертного объекта-скульптуры в пространственную среду и не-объект. К изданию прилагается soundtrack, созданный Гансом Хольманом специально для издания MUSEЙ и превращающий синхронное чтение книги в пространственное приключение.

English: INTERFACE / ANTIFOSTER is a book, an exhibition, an artistic project. This is a book about a social dispute the solution of which is proposed by architects. The book contains extracts from publications on Norman Foster’s projects for “Inteco” development company, opinions of experts, the open letter to Dmitry Medvedev, the President of Russia, the open letter to architect Norman Foster and an alternative project of an International Culture Center for the territory in dispute.

2005: ZERETELIMUSEUM

English: The project presumes constructing a shell around the sculpture “Peter the Great” by Zurab Ceretelli on the Moskva-river. There appears about 10.000 m2 of exhibition and recreation space with a circle view onto the Moscow centre. The sculpture becomes the main exhibit of the museum and a part of the interior. The shell transforms into a city sculpture being a natural part of the renovated area of “the Red October” Factory. The Ceretelli Museum becomes a new cultural and tourist site of international level. The shell consists of “smart” glass panels forming a system of hanging pixels. The walls react to environment changes – the glass transparency level is regulated. The panels contain light emitting diodes, which allows to convert the façade into an information screen transmitting images and texts as well as illuminating the museum interiors.

Russian: Проект предполагает строительство оболочки вокруг существующей скульптуры работы Зураба Церетели «Петр Первый» в основании стрелки Москвы-реки. Под оболочкой возникает около 10.000 м2 выставочных и рекреационных пространств c круговым видом на центр Москвы. Скульптура становится главным выставочным объектом музея и частью интерьера. Оболочка превращается в городскую скульптуру, являясь естественным продолжением застройки территории реконструируемой фабрики «Красный Октябрь». Музей Церетели становится новым активным культурным и туристическим центром международного уровня. Оболочка состоит из «умных» стеклянных панелей, представляющих собой систему «навесных пикселей». Стена реагирует на изменения внешней среды — регулирует степень прозрачности стекла. В панели встроены светодиоды, позволяющие в темное время суток превращать фасад в информационный экран, транслируя наружу изображения и тексты, а также освещать внутреннее пространство музея.

2005: Events in «SPACE FOR DISCOVERY» pavilion

English: 1. «Mintek Space of Sensations» is room equipped with ultramodern infrared and holographic apparatuses. In this virtual space, light, sound, smell and taste influence all our organs of sense that introduce us to the outer world. 2. «Soundtexture». Sounds from three audio sources situated in three cupolas are mixed in the process of movement. Viewers can adjust the sound if they move along the stripe of light. 3. «Architexture». Only recycled materials are used in this exhibition, e.g. drinking glasses, glass salvaged from old photographs and lights left after the previous show. All pictures and texts are A3 sized.

Russian: 1. «Пространство Ощущений Mintek» представляет собой оборудованное ультрасовременной инфракрасной и голографической аппаратурой помещение. В этом виртуальном пространстве свет, звук, запах и вкус воздействует на все органы чувств, дающие нам представление об окружающем мире. 2. «Soundtexture». Три источника звука, расположенные в трех куполах, в процессе движения смешиваются. Посетитель имеет возможность настроить звук, двигаясь вдоль световой полосы. 3. «Architexture». В экспозиции принимают участие только материалы повторного использования:стеклянные стаканы, стекла от фотографий и светильники с предыдущей выставки. Для картинок и текстов используется формат А3.

2002: RUSSIAN FLAG PROJECT

English: The project emerged as a result of an attempt to reconsider ‘the Russian colours’ within the framework of the historical three-colour flag. The three-colour flag is perceived by the authors of the project as an abrupt form of coexistence. In this context, the indivisible communistic red was a powerful artistic tool. Smooth colour blur is not a resort to outdated pop-art symbols but an ideological design of a new space sign. The flag colour obtained by gradual blurring of the three colours of the Russian flag (white, blue, red) is a symbol of the new triune space. In the process of blurring, a lilac — violet colour similar to the extreme characteristics of the colour spectrum appears. The process of blurring colours is staged as a performance which is held every leap year in accordance with the rhythm of the presidential elections. Thus by 2028 the colour will have become unified and will start changing its tone.

Russian: Проект появился в результате попытки переосмысления русского цвета в рамках исторического трех-цветного флага. Триколор видится авторам дробной формой сосуществования. Единый красный в этом смысле был сильным художественным инструментом. Главное единение цвета — это не использование устаревшей полит-символики, а идеологическое проектированиенового пространственного знака. Цвет флага, полученный путем постепенного смешивания/размывания российского триколора (белый-синий-красный) и есть символ нового триединого пространства. В процессе смешивания получается сиреневый цвет, сходный с крайней характеристикой цветового спектра. Смешивание цвета представляет собой перформанс и происходит каждые четыре года в соответствии с ритмом выборов президента.
