International Culture Center

The project aims at three purposes:
1.To preserve the present cultural area as one of the most valuable city assets;
2.To build up on its basis an International Cultural Center;
3.To create an ecologically favorable and attractive arts and promenade zone in the city center.
Therefore, considering Arts and Nature as top priorities of the area, we offer 300,000 sq m of buildings with cultural function surrounded by 140,000 sq m of forest thus giving Muscovites an opportunity to enjoy arts and practice creative work in an ecological oasis located in the very hart of the inner city. The forest becomes a city object.

Concept

Tree grid
The whole territory is covered by trees.
8100 trees
162 tons/year of oxygen net produced.
Site
Three buildings are preserved as a memorial of the site. CHA/NTG, Art School and the Church.
Volumes
The grid-pattern lay-out allows for new buildings to be incorporated into the area. Expo Boats transport Art exhibits along Moskva River.
Road
All vehicles are strictly forbidden on ICC, ecxept transportation vehicles. The road can be used both by pedestrians and transport.
In the wild
While around the buildings the grid pattern of the forest lay-out is strictly observed, further in the distance it becomes more chaotic and natural geting back to the wild.
