Archeologist’s collection

Sculptures were created by Grigoriy Bruskin a few years ago in a foundry workshop Salvadori Artein, Pistoya (Tuscany, Italy). They also have a special history. After creation of sculptures they were placed to the earth for a period of three years and are taken in 2009. During stay underground artifacts became covered by a natural patina and collapsed under the influence of time and the environment.

The project shows transformation of bronze sculptures into pseudo artifacts of the Soviet civilization which are perceived today as ancient certificates of great empires of the past.

For the period of exhibition “Archeologist’s collection” theater "Udarnik" became "a platform of archeological excavations". Instead of ranks with chairs in the former big cinema hall there are an excavation with the real earth in which 33 sculptures are laid.
